Continuing Inspiration - Huge Thank you to Local Organizations
Since we've been down here in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa, we have met some great organizations that are alreay working hard for zero waste and plastics pollution and who really care about both the environment and their community. It's so inpiring to meet people who are so engaged!
As independent filmmakers, having people like this on board with your message is amazing. They've been helping us get the word out to the public, and we can't say enough great things about these organizations:
The Newport Bay Conservancy has organized many clean up events yearly to bring awareness to the trash situation as part of their education program. They don't use water bottles at major events, and they often request attendees to bring their own containers. They event borrowed enough mix & match plates for 250 attendees for a fundraiser BBQ - how awesome is that!?
The Surfrider Foundation spans the entire coast and works to educate people about pollution in our occeans and protect the "waves and beaches". They sponsored us in Ucluelet, BC and all three local chapters (Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Long Beach) have jumped on board the film here in Newport Beach.
Newport Beach Farmer's Market - I already love farmer's markets, and any market that has local oranges is a must see in my book!
Algalita Marine Research Foundation - Not only did Charles Moore donate his time for an interview in our movie, he is also coming to our screening! Algalita has been bringing awareness of plastics pollution and ocean health worldwide for 16 years!
To all the organizations above and to all others that have taken an interest in The Clean Bin Project - Thank you! We'll see you this afternoon!
